The aim of Ards and North Down Labour Market Partnership is to help improve employability outcomes and labour market conditions locally. The Labour Market Partnership is offering free training for employees in the Ards and North Down Borough Council area to support industry-related training.

The Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering is aimed at learners working in the catering industry and other food handlers. It can also be used as an introduction for learners wishing to gain higher levels of training in this area.

Delivered over 1 full day the course covers:

  1. The Law
  2. Food Safety hazards
  3. HACCP
  4. Refrigeration, chilling and cold holding of foods
  5. Cooking, reheating and hot holding of foods
  6. Food handlers including personal hygiene
  7. Contamination
  8. Principles of safe storage
  9. Cleaning
  10. Food premises and equipment including pest control

Places are limited so early booking is recommended.

It is entirely at the Council’s discretion to accept registrations. Registrations from companies outside the Borough may be considered in exceptional circumstances and at the entire discretion of the council.
