First Aid at Work Training
About the event
Ards & North Down Borough Council are offering free training opportunities for employees & managers who would like to become emergency first aiders within the workplace. Delivered by NDFA, Emergency First Aid At Work (EFAW) is a 1 day training course, designed to provide the knowledge & skills needed to respond effectively to emergency situations, resulting in the attainment of a recognised EFAW qualification.
The course syllabus consists of the following: -
- Roles & responsibilities of a first aider
- Assessing an incident
- Managing incidents
- Managing unresponsive breathing / non breathing casualty
- Management of a seizure
- Introduction to a defibrillator
- Management of choking casualty
- Manage a casualty with a wound & bleeding
- Manage a casualty in shock
- Manage a casualty with a minor injury
It is entirely at the Council’s discretion to accept registrations. Registrations from companies outside the Borough may be considered in exceptional circumstances and at the entire discretion of the council.
